Finally! We can charter again in Croatia!

This is the News! We have been waiting for this moment!
Croatia opened the borders and allowed to charter a yacht again after the lockdown!

Renting a charter boat and using the accommodation service on ships, yachts and boats is considered an important economic reason for coming to the Republic of Croatia. Followed by this, as of today, 15 May foreign citizens are allowed to enter Croatia and charter a yacht. It is proved by presenting the List of crew and passengers entered into the e-Nautika system by the charter company or the owner of the vessel. Bars, restaurants, hotels, camps, marinas and shopping malls have been reopened. A few days ago, the state borders were opened for foreign citizens who travel for business reasons, own real estate or a boat in Croatia.

We advise following the instructions of the Croatian Institute of Public Health – https://www.hzjz.hr/en/

Mallorca? Back to normality!

Spain’s Mallorca entered Phase 1 of the de-escalation on Monday and now tourism bosses are desperately trying to kick-start the tourist season off.

AS from Monday, there was some further easing of the confinement in Mallorca. Social gatherings of up to 10 people were permitted, although safe distancing must still be practised. Bar terraces with 50 per cent capacity opened, and there was no longer the need for an appointment to enter shops of no more than 400 square metres.

Negueruela and President Armengol held a videoconference with the national tourism minister, Reyes Maroto, and the secretary-of-state for tourism, Bel Oliver, to discuss the tourism situation in the Balearics and the quarantine. A revitalising plan is being developed to kick-start the tourism industry on the Islands and money is being tunnelled into these efforts.

Afterwards, Negueruela stated that the quarantine should last the minimum and necessary time and that it should be “proportional to the degrees of de-escalation.” It should, therefore, “begin to be withdrawn as the phases of de-escalation progress.”

Armengol and Negueruela stressed to Maroto that their intention is to be able to start in July. “The recovery of tourism in the Balearics is important for Spain.”

Croatia eases border restrictions for foreigners!

The decision, which was announced at Saturday’s press conference by Interior Minister Davor Bozinovic related to both Croatian citizens and foreigners who will now be allowed to enter under special circumstances.

Croatian citizens can now enter the country or go abroad in compliance with the recommendations of the Croatian Institute of Public Health.

“Also, foreign nationals are now able to enter Croatia for business reasons or other economic interests along with compliance of the measures set by the Croatian Institute of Public Health. This also applies to foreigners who need to travel for urgent personal reasons,” Minister Bozinovic said.

Every person coming into Croatia will receive clear instructions on what and how to follow the measures set out by the Croatian Institute of Public Health.

“This will not mean a mandatory measure of self-isolation because it is not realistic to let someone come for an economic meeting or any other business meeting and then automatically prevent them from leaving their place or hotel or any other accommodation,” Minister Bozinovic said.

“This is the liberalisation of entry into the Republic of Croatia, we believe that with the cooperation of the border police, other inspections, of course, with the epidemiological service, we will be able to monitor and control the situation,” he added.

As for Croatian citizens residing in Croatia or another country, they will be able to enter Croatia that way or for reasons of a personal nature and will have to follow the Croatian Institute of Public Health recommendations given to them in writing at the border crossing.

Croatia on the way of opening the borders soon!

“We have to find a way to enable those activities to resume, which includes cross-border travel, without putting public health at risk. This is not a matter that will be resolved in a couple of days but we will discuss it and definitely find a solution,” Bozinovic said.

Mallorca lifting the restrictions! Yacht Charter possible from June!

Mallorca just announced that from the Middle of June all restrictions which are effecting yacht charter industry will be lifted!

When can I get back to my boat and what plans should I make for this summer?

At least regarding the reopening of the ports in Spain, there has been relative clarity since yesterday !

In accordance with the Spanish government’s 4-step timetable for the exit from the corona-related lockdown, the ministry responsible for the activities of the sports harbours and the nautical sector has now announced the following step-by-step plan to reopen the sector:

Phase 0                from May 4th
Access to the port and boats is allowed to carry out a security and technical condition check. This applies to only 1 person per boat and only if the owner lives in the same municipality of the port (geographical restriction of the traffic ).

The performance of sailing as an individual sport for the corresponding boat classes is permitted.

Phase 1                from May 11th
Leaving the harbour with boats as a sport and leisure activity reduced to small groups on board (family, same household) is generally permitted.

Geographical restrictions apply, the province of the home port must not be left.

Phase 2                from the beginning of June
The reduction to small groups is lifted. The geographical restrictions on the respective province apply. Even boat owners who live outside the municipality of the port are now allowed to go to their boats.

Phase 3                from mid-June
All geographical restrictions are removed.

Unrestricted access to the ports and boats, all nautical activities including charter are possible in compliance with the applicable hygiene regulations.

What does this mean specifically for foreign owners who have their boats in spanish marinas?
The gradual reopening of the marinas starts immediately and with geographic restrictions it is possible to leave harbours with boats starting  May 11th.

From the beginning of June, access to the marina and boats will also be permitted to people who do not reside in the same municipality of the port.

When each foreign owner can go back to his boat depends only on the travel restrictions of the respective country of origin and the reopening of the Spanish borders for individual trips. It can be assumed that this will not be possible before mid-June.

Use of the boat and unrestricted entry and exit will then be possible.

So – be ready to get back on the water!

Are you ready?

Travel restrictions are about to disappear!

Summer Travel for Europeans was discussed with EU Tourism Ministers and Croatian Travel Minister Gari Cappelli – “Cappelli hopes that by the end of May, at least at the bilateral level, they could agree to open some kind of tourist borders with some countries, with a respectable number of countries already interested.”

Tourism is crucial in saving and strengthening certain European economies, such as the Italian and Spanish ones, which, like Croatia, have a high share of tourism in total GDP.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed! The yachts are ready and waiting for you in Cala d’Or on Mallorca and Marina Frapa in Rogoznica, Croatia!
